- The advent of high-strength, low-alloy (HSLA) steels brought about a significant leap in performance. These alloys offered improved resistance to corrosion, higher yield strength, and better toughness, allowing drill rods to withstand the rigors of deep drilling without failing. Furthermore, heat treatment processes were refined to give the steel additional hardness while retaining its flexibility, ensuring that the rods could bend without breaking as they navigated through twists and turns in the mine shaft.
- Vinyl Ester (Type V): Developed to withstand the harsh chemical environments found in chemical, waste treatment, and metal plating plants.
- In the heart of any bustling construction site, there is a machine that stands out for its sheer power and efficiency—the jackhammer. This versatile tool, often referred to as a rock breaker, is an essential piece of equipment for any contractor or miner. Its primary purpose is to break up hard surfaces such as rocks, concrete, and asphalt, making way for new construction or excavation work.
- One of the key advantages of pultruded fiberglass grating is its exceptional resistance to corrosion. Unlike traditional metal gratings, this material does not rust or deteriorate when exposed to chemicals or harsh weather conditions. This makes it an excellent choice for facilities where corrosive substances are present, such as chemical plants, wastewater treatment plants, and offshore platforms.
- Despite the initial cost being slightly higher compared to conventional materials, the long-term benefits and reduced lifecycle costs make FRP ducts a cost-effective investment. Their durability, low maintenance, and resistance to environmental factors ensure a longer service life, which offsets the upfront expense.
Chemical Processing: Used in chemical plants and refineries due to its corrosion resistant and slip resistant properties.

molded frp gratings are manufactured in a one piece construction which results in a bi-directionally strong product. This allows openings for piping or cables in the grating of up to 10” without any additional support required (may vary depending on grating depth and location of opening). During the molded manufacturing process, the continuous fiberglass rovings are completely covered in a high percentage of resin, 65% by volume. With this high resin content, molded gratings are the most chemically resistant gratings offered and are often used in caustic chemical environments without hesitation.
