What are oil seals?
Features
- Innovations in material science have led to the development of advanced gasket materials, enhancing their durability and sealing capabilities. These advancements, coupled with precision manufacturing techniques, have significantly reduced the likelihood of gasket failure, contributing to the overall reliability of modern engines.
Material
In conclusion, oil seal manufacturing plays a crucial role in providing reliable sealing solutions for industrial and automotive applications. Leading companies in the sector leverage advanced manufacturing capabilities and expertise to produce high-quality oil seals, while innovations in rubber oil seals and a focus on quality assurance contribute to the overall performance and reliability of sealing solutions.
Common materials used in oil seals include nitrile rubber, fluorine rubber, silicone rubber, acrylic rubber, polyurethane, polytetrafluoroethylene, etc. When selecting the material of the oil seal, the compatibility of the material with the working medium, the adaptability to the working temperature range and the ability of the lip to follow the rotating shaft at high speed must be considered. When the oil seal is working, the temperature of its lip is higher than the working medium temperature by 20~50°C. Attention should be paid when selecting the oil seal material. The working range of the oil seal is related to the material used for the oil seal: the material is nitrile rubber (-40~120°C), Aggreko rubber (ACM) -30~180°C, fluorine rubber (FPM) -25~300°C.

Auto gaskets are crucial components in vehicle systems, serving to create a secure seal between mating surfaces to prevent fluid or gas leakage. These gaskets are used in various automotive applications, including engines, transmissions, and exhaust systems. High-quality auto gaskets are essential for maintaining the integrity and efficiency of vehicle systems, contributing to optimal performance and reliability.
Broad chemical resistance, except against liquid alkaline metals and fluorine gas under pressure. Good sliding qualities, low wear and tear. Temperature range from -200 °C to +260°C. PTFE has hardness of approximately 95 °Shore and installing these O-rings in split grooves is recommended or alternatively the use slit or sheathed types due to the low elasticity.
