Nitrile Oil Seals - Nitrile oil seals, which is the commonly used term for acrylonitrile-butadiene rubber seals, is a very good general-purpose option due to the flexibility of use across a variety of components. The resistance is strong against fats, hot water, gasoline, mineral oils, grease and animal oils, making them the most often-used oil seals. They do not have a wide temperature range, making them a poor choice for machinery that can see extreme changes in temperature.
The sealing lip is always made of a rubber or synthetic material. For oil seals with a rubber outer case (R, RST, GR, GRST), the rubber quality of the sealing lip and the outer case are the same.
Shaft oil seals are used in a wide range of industries, including automotive, industrial, and aerospace
. In automotive applications, they are commonly used in engine crankshafts, camshafts, and differentials, where they help to prevent oil leaks and maintain optimal lubrication levels. In industrial applications, shaft oil seals are used in pumps, compressors, and other rotating equipment to protect bearings and other critical components from damage.
shaft oil sealIts sealing edge comes in full contact with the shaft surface in order to provide excellent sealing performance.
(See Figure 3.)NBR - Despite their ubiquity and importance, small oil seals are often treated as disposable items, replaced rather than repaired when issues arise. However, proper maintenance can extend their lifespan significantly. Regular checks for cracks, wear, or deformation can prevent unexpected failures. Additionally, ensuring that the right type of oil is used can also contribute to the longevity of these seals; the wrong viscosity or chemical composition can lead to degradation over time.
U-shaped silicone gaskets are versatile sealing components used in various industries for their resilience, flexibility, and resistance to extreme temperatures and environmental conditions. These gaskets are commonly employed in applications where a reliable seal is required, such as in automotive, aerospace, and industrial equipment. The U-shaped design allows for easy installation and effective sealing, making them suitable for a wide range of applications.
