At the beginning of the 20th century, cast iron decorative fences gained popularity due to their low cost and ability to manufacture the many components of ornamental fencing efficiently. Molds are used to create each element of cast iron. 

Choosing the Right Wheels

Still, iron was the first material to let people build truly tall buildings. The Eiffel Tower, for instance, is actually built out of wrought iron. Wrought iron is strong, but also inconsistent and prone to flaws that are impossible to detect until a particular piece fails catastrophically. This is something that happened regularly throughout the nineteenth century, causing factories to collapse on the heads of the workers below and trains to derail or fall into rivers when the bridges they crossed collapsed. Steel, in comparison, is much more consistent, and as soon as people figured out how to make it in large quantities they began using it for everything. In fact, when people say “wrought iron” in reference to fencing, what they are probably referring to is steel fencing that looks like wrought iron. The confusion might also come from the fact that steel is really just iron worked at higher temperatures to ensure an even distribution of carbon.

An excellent example of the limitations is how large a hinged window’s opening element can be. Most aluminium windows only go up to around 1.2 m or 1.5 m, with side-opening windows even smaller at 600 mm or 900 mm. So you won’t find extra-large opening windows beyond these sizes.

Custom Fabrications. Ornamental iron (steel) fences are easy to customize. Manufacturers and fence installers can create custom decorative fence solutions on most any budget.

Of course, having decided to build with an aluminium frame profile you will have to decide what shape you want. As previously mentioned, this is the strongest material but it is also one that are not as widely available as some of the other materials. Therefore, you may find that it will be more cost effective for you to build with some form of shed roof. However, before you do this you should think about whether you actually want this feature or not.

Ideally, any recyclable material is fundamental. It means you can use the substance many times, which reduces production costs significantly.
